Welcome to Sk8time. These Terms of Service govern your use of our scheduling platform for coaches, parents, and students.

By accessing or using Sk8time, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.

1. Eligibility

  • Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
  • Provide accurate and complete account information
  • Use the platform only for lawful scheduling purposes
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account

3. Service Description

Sk8time is a scheduling platform that allows coaches to create, manage, and share lesson events with parents and students. Sk8time does not provide coaching services and does not guarantee lesson outcomes, performance results, or availability of any user.

4. Platform Use & Scheduling Model

Coaches use Sk8time to create and manage lesson events that may be shared with parents and students.

  • Coaches are responsible for creating and managing all lesson events
  • Events may be shared with parents or students for coordination
  • Sk8time does not guarantee bookings, attendance, or business outcomes
  • Coaches are solely responsible for scheduling accuracy and communication

Sk8time is not responsible for lost business, missed opportunities, scheduling conflicts, or platform access issues including downtime or service interruptions.

5. SMS & Text Message Communications

Your Phone Number Privacy

Sk8time will never sell, share, or use your phone number for marketing purposes. If you provide a phone number and choose to opt in to text notifications in your profile settings, your coach may only send you SMS messages directly related to your lessons, such as:

  • Lesson reminders and schedule updates
  • Notifications from your coaches about lesson changes
  • Payment confirmations and receipts

You may disable text message notifications at any time by updating your profile settings. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

By opting in to SMS notifications, you consent to receive text messages through Sk8time from your Coach for the purposes described above. You can opt out at any time by updating your profile or replying STOP to any message.

6. Payment & Fees

Sk8time is free to use. There are no monthly fees, subscriptions, or sign-up charges for any user. Instead, the following small per-transaction fees apply only when credit card payments are processed through the platform:

For Parents & Athletes: 2.5% Platform Convenience Fee

When you choose to pay for a lesson through Sk8time, a 2.5% Platform Convenience Fee is added to your total. This fee helps cover the cost of secure payment processing, platform maintenance, hosting, and customer support. Credit card transaction fees typically cost 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, and this fee helps offset those costs for your coaches while keeping the platform free to use for everyone. The fee is clearly displayed before you complete any payment, and no charges occur unless you voluntarily choose to pay for a lesson.

Example: For a $50 lesson, the parent pays $51.25

For Coaches: 5% Platform Convenience Fee

When a parent pays for a lesson, a 5% Platform Convenience Fee is automatically deducted from the payment before it is transferred to your connected Stripe account. This fee is shared with parents and helps cover payment processing infrastructure and platform operational costs.

Example: For a $50 lesson, the parent pays $51.50. After credit card processing and convenience fees, you receive approximately $47.21 deposited directly to your bank account.

Stripe Connect: Coaches must connect a Stripe account to receive payments. Sk8time uses Stripe Connect to facilitate secure payment processing and automatic transfers to your bank account. You are responsible for maintaining your Stripe account in good standing and complying with Stripe's terms of service.

Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store full payment card details. Sk8time is not the merchant of record for payments between coaches and clients.

Billing Responsibility: Sk8time is not responsible for billing disputes, errors, or charges handled by Stripe or your payment provider.

Sk8Time Pro is an optional premium subscription designed for coaches who want advanced business management tools. Pro features include enhanced invoicing, student billing, payment tracking, financial reporting, and analytics. Sk8Time Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance, are non refundable once collected, and may be canceled at any time. Canceling a subscription prevents future renewals, and access to Pro features continues through the end of the current paid subscription period.

7. Coach Accounts

Coach accounts are free to use with full access to create and manage lessons and events. There are no subscriptions or recurring fees. Coaches only pay a 5% platform fee when a payment is successfully processed through SK8time. The platform helps save time by automating scheduling, billing, invoicing, reminders, and parent communication, reducing administrative overhead so coaches can focus on coaching.

8. Parent & Student Access

Parent and student accounts are provided free of charge to view and coordinate lesson schedules created by coaches. When parents choose to pay for lessons through the platform, a 2.5% Platform Convenience Fee is added to the total (see Section 6).

  • Parents are responsible for staying informed about scheduled lessons
  • Sk8time is not responsible for missed lessons or communication issues
  • Any financial arrangements between parents and coaches outside the platform are separate from Sk8time

9. User Conduct

  • No illegal, fraudulent, or abusive activity
  • No impersonation or misrepresentation
  • No harassment or harmful behavior
  • No interference with system security or operations
  • No unauthorized access to data

10. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and software are owned or licensed by Sk8time and protected by intellectual property laws.

11. No Warranty

Sk8time is provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation, or that the service will meet your expectations.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sk8time shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of business, revenue, data, or opportunities arising from use of the platform.

Sk8time's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid (if any) for use of the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

13. Service Availability

Sk8time does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues without notice.

14. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time. Some minimal data may be retained for legal, security, or fraud prevention purposes unless full removal is required by law. Transaction records may be retained for accounting and tax purposes.

15. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations
  • Termination does not remove obligations accrued before termination

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of Sk8time after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
